"We are the change" handbook on climate change and youth mental health
As part of the "EcoMind: Youth leading the climate and mental health movement"
a handbook has been developed focusing on the connection between climate change and young people’s mental health, with particular emphasis on the experiences, needs, and perspectives of young people themselves. The handbook is the result of a collaborative process with young people who, through camp, mentoring process and discussions, identified challenges in their communities, developed their own ideas, and shaped initiatives aimed at creating concrete change.
The publication provides an overview of key topics linking climate change with everyday life and youth mental health, while also presenting ideas and recommendations that may be useful for civil society organisations, institutions, professionals, and everyone working with young people.
A particular value of the handbook lies in the fact that it starts from the perspective of young people – from the issues they identify and the way they experience them, to the solutions they consider important and achievable.
The aim of the handbook is not only to inform, but also to encourage further discussion and action. We hope it will serve as a practical resource for developing new initiatives, designing activities with young people, and strengthening cooperation between young people, organisations, and institutions.
The handbook is available for download below.
